Feeling Lucky, or Just Irish? Because We’re Going to Ireland!

I knew Ireland was known for it’s green landscapes, but I didn’t know that I would be seeing Medieval Kilkenny. Ireland has more to it than just it’s beauty, it has history. History that I didn’t even know would interest me. I can get a tour that is called the “Medieval Mile” where I could literally feel what others who have walked before me have felt. I could learn about their rich memories, lessons, and time before me. The walk is two and a half hours of touring some of the oldest castles, stoned steps, and the original four towers. I am breathless to see photos of such art that the people before us have made. We’re looking at architecture that dates back to the 13th Century. Doesn’t that make you wonder what life was like before us? What they were like? I mean the history is just astonishing. It’s remarkable that it holds well today for people to view and learn about these places and the residents who once lived there.

Ireland is a magical place of great timing. When would that timing be? Join Ireland in the months of September, October, November, March, April, and May. The winters tend to be much more freezing than our miss little New Hampshire. I personally would enjoy Ireland in the fall because fall is my mom and I’s favorite season of the year. If I were to leave next fall for Ireland, it wouldn’t be without her. My mom and I have talked about Ireland my whole life, and it’s something I couldn’t experience without her. Why are we so drawn to Ireland? Well Ireland is, like I said, a magical and very green place.  From my mom and I’s first moments, I remember Ireland being the first ever mother daughter trip. My mom wanted to see Ireland for it’s impeccable tours, and I was always more interested in the drinking age (joke).

If it’s not obvious from the picture above, we would be staying in Dublin, Ireland. This lake, lake Killarney, would be the perfect spot for my mom and I to try canoeing without her flipping it over a spider, like in lake Raymond in Maine.  It would be great to find our way down here, take a canoe ride, thousands of pictures, and eat right there in the middle of the colorful and beautiful lake. My mom would also enjoy the chance to sip Irish Whiskey while pairing it with farmhouse cheese. I’m not making this blog post to talk about a place I will never go because believe me, I am going with my mom to this incredible place someday. Let me know if you want to hear about it from someone who has seen these views in person. I need to start saving!
